Candy factory

Started the day at the college football hall of fame. Timing again. They are moving the Museum to Atlanta. Small candy store sign across the street caught my eye. The lady in the store suggested we go tour the factory7 minutes away. Don twisted my arm and we went. The three of us were the only ones on the tour. Junior was really spoiled. Did you all know the pods grow on the outside of the trunk?  It was still early so we said "oh what the heck, since we're in town lets go to Notre Dame.
What an experience. The campus is huge. All brick buildings with slate roofs. We drove around campus for awhile and then went to the Purcell Pavillion to get tickets to tour the stadium. We wandered around the Pavillion and watched them set up for a concert. Check out these bathrooms. Do  we Catholics know how to do things or what. A bit nicer than the coliseum. Our timing was great this time. Only a few people. On the tour and Herschel, our guide really liked Jr. He reminded him  of a project his granddaughter did. He kept telling me to take lots of pictures. I' amazed at how often other people want to take pictures of Jr. He took us into extra places. The old brick stadium is surrounded by an addition. The stadium gates we entered through havea design of a football and the playing field.
It is a little hard to see. The I side brick walls are lined with famous players. Russell do you recognize anyone we sit next to in Church every week? Dave had a little more hair back then. Tell hi m we did some name dropping but still had to pay for our tickets.
. We went through the dignitaries, press box entrance. Herschel asked if anyone wanted to see the press box and I said we would take all we could get. The views of the campus and field were great. Then he asked if we wanted to see the Presidents box. Jr said yes. Russell, I think we are putting too much in the collection box! Great view of The Touchdown  Jesus. From there. There was the picture of thr four horsemen and a picture of the jet that does the flyover, signed by pilots that Graduated from Notre Dame. Because of budget problems, they are discontinuing the fly over. Next on to the field. I don't even like football but I got chills then. I was thinking that Roz would like to be there. Jr decided to help the ground crew. We went under the stadium and there were giant rolls of sod. On the walls were giant three dimension championship rings.
Next weren't into the locker room.. Wow. The wood work was incredible. In the showcase were the actual rings. The showers we saw were only for seniors so JUNIOR could not go in. Players will not step on the emblem in the carpet because it is bad luck. Don washable to go into the showers because he really is a SENIOR. We were able to exit the locker room to the field the same way the players do.At the bottom of the stairs you have to slap the sign and yell. From there to the parking lot. What a great tour.
