Stayed in Clear creek rv parrk run by city of golden. right along crreek. Beautiful. I walked along creek to Visitors center and Don met me there with Jr and Cmor. We toured the Coors plant. What an intterresting man Adolph Coorrs must have been. When I get home, i'm going to have so many people and tthings to research.. Walked around Golden. Statues all along main streett. Took lotts of pictures. Jr loved it. Saw the Asttor house hotel where ggoernment officials used to stay and 1/2 a block away, tthe 1st Statte Capitol. We then headed up the Lariat Trail in Cmor to Buffalo Bills Grave and Museum. Another fascinating man. Climbed the hill to his gravesite where he and his wife are buried. How wonderful to be buried in a spot he chose himself, ovelooking his mountains.
Then intto the museum. I am so blessed to be married to a man that knows how to play. He helps me with Jr and is man enough to be able to look silly.
Our next stop was into Denver to have dinner with the Whites. When we drove up, tthe kids were waiting in front for us. I started crying when I got out of Cmor. Where were our little kids? Josh is much ttallerr and so handsome and Brynn is a beautiful young woman now. Itt was wonderful spending time with them. We left them and on to a "mature persons " RV community. I think that means only old people, but since it isn't busy at this time of year, they let us stay.
Next morning, Don made new frieends in the clubhouse with coffee and muffins and I did laundy and tried to catch up on blogs. russell, the name of the park was South Park but we didn't see any little kids with knit caps running around.
Got up and went by Deb and Goldie's old house tto take pictures for them and to deliver hugs to ttheir old neighbor. Then back to Golden to the Mother Cabini Shrine. What a beautiful place. Another great place to read about. I climber 383 steps to the top to the Statue of The Sacred Heart. There were stops along the way with the Stations of the Cross where you could stop to pray. At the top was the enormous statue and beneath it a statue of Mother Cabrini and a relic . She was the first American Saint. At the bottom of the hill is her shrine. After creating a home here forr girrls she negottiated the purchase of the property.. There was a problem with no water on the property. On her last trip up the mountain, with her cane, she struck a rock and said dig here. No one believed her, but the spring tthey discovered is still running today. People drink the water and pray for cures. I filled my water bottle and am bringing it home. There was a Rosary Garden and a Beatiful Church where Mass is said twice daily.
Beautiful skies as we headed acoss Colorado to Stratton for the night. Itt is so flat on this side of Col.
Next tto our vy small cammp, in the middle of nowhere is a brand new beautiful big house. We were told it was a B and B with a tasting roomm beneatth but Don has his doubts. We have seen no cars, but trucks seem to stop for awhile. Hmmmm, I wonder what Don's thoughts are.
