Cooperstown

I' in Cmor now so typing may be even worse than usual if that is possible. We have enjoyed almost everything on this trip but were disappointed with The Baseball Hall of Fame. When we got to the entrance there were boys and Dads lined up for a group team picture in front of the building. It was a joy to see all their faces. Men and boys. They were so happy to be there. I hope they all enjoyed it. Fortunately it wasn't too crowded so we were able to get close to the exhibits and read the small print.  We had parked at Doubleday Field and were able to walk to the Hall. We enjoyed the statues and the movie theater was set up as if you were in a stadium. Don of course was wearing his Giants shirt and hat and got a lot of nods and high fives. Met a new friend from the New York Giants and exchanged cards and email addresses. There were rows of seats from old stadiums and even a ticket booth. Saw some uniforms that I could picture Sharon wearing when she plays ball. Lots of info on my people and the love of baseball in South America. Big display on the Giants game honoring Jerry Garcia and that was fun to see since we were at that game, courtesy of Paul's generosity. Saw the shortest and tallest players. Don's favorite part was seeing the Giants World Series Trophy. It was there for two days on it's way to Tiffany's in New York to be engraved before heading home to SF. We enjoyed the Art Gallery and the hall of Fame with all the plaques. We really enjoyed seeing the statues of Babe Ruth and Ted Williams. They looked so real. Went to the Kids area for Jr and found a baseball card that looked like Don. Outside we found out why it is called Cooperstowm. Looking at these notes I'm not sure why we were disappointed but it could be that most displays were really crowded and hard to read.Maybe it was an old people thing because the guys standing around the cases were enjoying it. Also we did tend to look for the Home town stuff. Anyway we are glad we went. Off to more adventures, talk to y'all later. Hugs from Don and Donna
